Two lab-grown engagement rings can look identical on a screen and be very different purchases. The differences live in the details a product page can leave out: whether the price includes the stone, what grade the stone actually is, who certified it, and what happens if the ring does not fit. Here are the nine checks that separate one seller from another, with the exact answer Beylora gives to each, so you can hold any ring you are considering to the same list.
1. Does the price include the diamond?
This is the first check because it changes every other number. Some sellers price the setting and let you add a stone afterward, so the number on the page is a fraction of what you will pay. Others price the complete ring. At Beylora the price on the page is the whole ring, stone and setting, starting at $1,800 at 2 carats. 2. What is the color and clarity grade, in letters?
Skip the adjectives and find the grade. Color runs from D (colorless) down the alphabet; clarity runs from Flawless through VVS, VS, SI and I. Most engagement rings are sold at F to G color and VS2 clarity. Every Beylora center diamond is D color and VVS2 or better clarity, with Excellent polish and Excellent symmetry, on every ring at every carat. 3. Who certified the stone, and can you look the report up?
A certificate matters only if it comes from an independent laboratory and you can verify it yourself. IGI and GIA both grade lab-grown diamonds and both publish report lookups on their own websites. Every Beylora center stone is IGI certified and the report number is checkable on igi.org. A seller's own printed card, or a certificate from a lab you cannot look up, is a description rather than a verification. 4. Are the accent diamonds held to the same standard?
The small stones along a band or inside a hidden halo are easy to forget about, and some sellers use a lower grade there. Ask. At Beylora the accent diamonds are lab-grown and held to the same D color and VVS standard as the center stone. Diamonds that small are bought and set as a matched group rather than certified one at a time, so the IGI report covers the center stone, which is the case at every jeweler.
5. What are the return terms, in full?
Read four things: the window, whether it starts at order or at arrival, any fee, and who pays return shipping. Ours are simple. You can return a ring within 30 days of the day it arrives, with a 20% restocking fee on a change of mind and no fee at all if anything is wrong with the ring when it reaches you. 6. What happens if the size is wrong?

7. What does the seller do after the sale?

8. How long does it take, and is it made to order?
Made to order means the ring is built for you after you order, which is why it takes longer than a shelf item and why the stone you were shown is the stone you receive.
