D color and VVS2 clarity can be a good choice when you want high color and clarity grades within your budget. Their value depends on the individual diamond, the complete ring price and what you prefer. They do not, by themselves, describe every aspect of a diamond’s appearance.
What should you compare before paying more for a grade?
Compare the complete rings at the same center-diamond weight and metal, with the actual grades listed. Check whether a quoted price covers a loose stone, a setting or the finished ring. A change in color or clarity is only one part of that comparison.

Can you see the difference between D and F color?
D is the highest grade on the D to Z color scale; D, E and F are all in the colorless range. Lighting, mounting and the diamond itself can affect perceived color. Read IGI’s explanation of color grading and compare the actual diamonds where possible.
Can you see the difference between VVS2 and VS2?
VVS means Very Very Slightly Included; VS means Very Slightly Included. VVS characteristics are difficult to detect under magnification, while VS characteristics are minor. The size, nature and position of inclusions affect their visibility, so a grade alone is not a universal boundary for what someone can see unaided. IGI explains the clarity scale.
When is it not worth paying for?
A higher grade may not add enough visible benefit for your priorities to justify a higher complete-ring price. Above VVS2 are VVS1, Internally Flawless and Flawless. Beylora’s engagement-ring center diamonds are VVS1 or VVS2. Internally Flawless and Flawless are outside our stated VVS range. The individual IGI report identifies the grade of your center diamond. Use a real price difference, not an assumed grade upgrade
For Bellagio, the complete 2-carat ring in 14k white gold is $1,800; the 2-carat ring in 18k white gold is $2,300, at the configurations checked September 7, 2026. That $500 difference changes the metal option. It does not buy a higher stated center color or clarity standard. Tax and optional Rush are extra.
Beylora does not offer a lower-grade center option to trade against D/VVS in this comparison. To compare another seller's grade choice, obtain that seller's exact configuration and complete price. Do not treat an unavailable Beylora option as a quote.
