14k vs 18k gold vs platinum: 14k gold is about 58.3% gold and 18k is 75%. At Beylora, 14k white and yellow gold cost the same, 18k gold adds $500 and platinum adds $700 to any design at any carat, so a ring that is $1,800 in 14k gold is $2,300 in 18k and $2,500 in platinum.
Choose a ring metal by comparing the material, the complete price and the questions you still need answered about its finish and care. At Beylora, 14k gold, 18k gold and platinum are selectable options. A higher metal price does not mean a higher stated center-diamond color or clarity standard.
What do 14k and 18k mean?
Gold karat describes its proportion in an alloy: 14k means 14 parts gold out of 24, or about 58.3%; 18k means 18 out of 24, or 75%. The remaining metals are part of the alloy. That label does not identify every ingredient or the surface finish. The FTC explains precious-metal markings.
Diamond carat and gold karat answer different questions. A 2-carat center in an 18k setting still has a 2-carat center; the 18k refers to the gold. Keep both labels in your comparison so the metal choice cannot be mistaken for a diamond upgrade.
Compare the same complete ring in each metal
These Bellagio examples keep the design and 2-carat lab-grown center option fixed. Prices were checked September 7, 2026 and include the center, setting and design accents. Applicable tax, a separate wedding band and optional $300 Rush are extra.

White gold and platinum: ask about the actual finish
White gold is often rhodium plated; that plating can need renewal as it wears. This is general jewelry information, not confirmation of the finish on a particular Beylora ring. GIA's white-metal guide explains the distinction.
Before choosing based on a maintenance assumption, ask us to confirm the exact alloy and finish for your design. If a particular metal ingredient matters to you, name it in your question. “White gold” alone is not an ingredient list. If you need a nickel-free alloy, ask us to confirm the exact option before ordering. Likewise, ask for the applicable platinum fineness and alloy rather than borrowing a percentage from another seller's ring.

A practical way to choose
| Your deciding factor | Useful next step |
|---|---|
| Keeping the ring below $2,000 before tax | Start with a verified $1,800 14k configuration. Reserve room for tax; $300 Rush would take that ring to $2,100 before tax. |
| White versus yellow appearance | Compare the chosen design in each available view. Confirm which metal the image represents, particularly when two options use similar photographs. |
| A specific gold content | Record 14k or 18k explicitly and compare the resulting complete-ring price. |
| Finish or alloy requirements | Get a design-specific answer before buying. Do not choose from a generic durability ranking alone. |
| Wearing it beside a wedding band | Record the metal and exact design of both pieces, then check their physical compatibility separately. |
You do not need to justify the most expensive option to have a good reason for your choice. Write down the material you prefer, the full amount you can spend and the one unanswered question that could change your decision.
Check the full cost and aftercare
Our budget planner lets you include a separate band, optional Rush and a tax amount you enter. The checkout determines the actual total. If you are comparing two-ring combinations, the wedding-band-fit guide helps organize the evidence.
Read the resizing terms and the Beylora Lifetime Guarantee before you choose. Beylora contributes $100 toward one resize per ring at a jeweler you choose, and every ring is covered by the guarantee at no charge. If anything ever happens to your ring, center diamond included, we'll repair or replace it. One claim, good for life; you only pay shipping. Design-specific feasibility still needs confirmation.
