The Amalfi ring

The Design

The center is a Marquise cut: a long stone tapered to a fine point at each end, named for its boat-like silhouette. It is the most fitting shape for a coast that lived by the sea. The same elongated line runs through the sfusato lemon ripening on the terraces and through the slim hulls that made Amalfi a republic of merchants and navigators. Worn on the hand, the Marquise lies lengthwise along the finger, so the eye travels its full reach the way it travels the coastline, town to town, until the cliffs finally meet the water.

The Story of Amalfi

Amalfi, Six Houses Up
1 / 4

Six Houses Up

Lemon trees and laundry hang off balconies stacked six houses up the ravine. The Monti Lattari rise here past a thousand meters of pale limestone and drop almost vertically into the Gulf of Salerno, leaving no flat ground to speak of. So the towns climb. From the water, Positano looks like one tall painting. Up close, it is roads and staircases threaded between the pink and the yellow. People made a home where there was barely room for one.

Amalfi, Terraces By Hand
2 / 4

Terraces By Hand

The hillsides are stitched with dry-stone walls, some three to seven meters tall, laid without a drop of cement so air and rainwater move freely through the stone. On the ledges they hold grow the sfusato Amalfitano, a long, spindle-shaped lemon with a thick, sweet-scented peel found almost nowhere else. Families still tend these gardens by hand, cistern by cistern. It is slow, deliberate work that one generation does so the next inherits something living.

The Diamond

The Marquise is the navette, the little ship, an old cut prized because its drawn-out form carries light from end to end and reads larger than its weight suggests. Every Amalfi diamond is lab-grown and IGI-certified, F color and above, VS2 clarity and above, so the stone stays bright and clean clear to both fine points where the shape is least forgiving. Like a town built straight up a ravine because the view demanded it, this cut asks for precision and rewards it: held to the light, it gathers the whole of it and gives it back.

Amalfi, The Sea Republic
3 / 4

The Sea Republic

Amalfi rose as a maritime republic in 839, one of Italy's four great ones beside Venice, Genoa, and Pisa. Its ships ran trade from Byzantium to North Africa, its gold tari coins passed across the Mediterranean, and the Tavole Amalfitane set down some of the first written rules of the sea. For a town pinned to a cliff, the water was never a boundary. It was the road forward, and the way home.

Amalfi, Klingsor's Garden
4 / 4

Klingsor's Garden

In 1880 Richard Wagner climbed to Ravello and walked the cliffside gardens of Villa Rufolo, hanging over the open sea. He had been laboring on Parsifal for years. Standing there he found his answer, writing that the magical garden of Klingsor had been found at last. Since 1953 those same gardens have held the Ravello Festival, its orchestra on a stage built out over the drop, music carried on the air above the water.

The diamonds

Are lab-grown diamonds real diamonds, or are they fake?

They are real diamonds, completely. A lab-grown diamond is pure crystallized carbon with the same physical, chemical, and optical properties as one formed in the earth: the same fire, the same brilliance. It tests as a real diamond, and every Beylora stone is independently certified, so it’s verified, not just promised.

Will anyone be able to tell it’s lab-grown?

No. To the eye, a lab-grown diamond is indistinguishable from a natural one. They share the same structure and catch light the same way. Telling them apart takes specialized equipment in a gemological laboratory, not a glance across a room.

Are lab-grown diamonds ethical and conflict-free?

Yes. Your diamond was grown in a lab, not pulled from the earth. No mine, no conflict, and nothing in its history you’d rather not know. For many of the people who choose Beylora, knowing exactly where their diamond came from is part of why it means so much.

What is your diamond quality standard?

Every Beylora diamond is F color and above and VS2 clarity and above: bright, white, with no inclusions visible to the eye. Every single stone is hand-selected and triple-checked before it is set. Then it is independently certified, so the quality is documented, not just described.

Which certifications do you use, and why are they the best?

Every Beylora diamond carries its own IGI certificate, graded independently, stone by stone. IGI grades with no stake in the sale, to the strictest global standards, which is exactly why jewelers and collectors trust it.

The price

Is the price I see really the whole ring, or do costs get added later?

The price you see is the complete ring. The center stone, the accent stones, and the setting are all included together, with nothing added to the ring at checkout or after. We price it this way on purpose: no one should get to checkout and watch the number climb. What’s shown is what you pay.

The price seems low for a real diamond ring. Is it too good to be true?

It’s a fair question, and the answer is simple: a lab-grown diamond costs far less to create than one pulled from the earth, so the same F-color-and-above, VS2-clarity-and-above stone reaches you for less, with nothing about the diamond compromised. Our rings start at $1,800 for the complete ring, which is simply what a diamond ring costs when the stone is grown instead of mined.

Can I pay over time?

Yes. You’ll find pay-over-time options at checkout, and you can spread the payments in whatever way fits your life. Paying over time changes nothing about her ring: we make it with the same care, and it ships complete, never held back waiting on a final payment.

Your ring

How long until I receive my ring?

Each ring is made to order, which takes about 45 days from the day you order to the day it arrives: the time it takes to set your diamond into the metal you chose, made for you rather than pulled from a shelf. If you have a date to meet, a rush option is available.

Which metals can I choose from?

Every ring is offered in white gold, yellow gold, and platinum, so you can match the metal to her everyday style. White gold and platinum read cool and bright; yellow gold is warmer and classic. If you’re unsure which she’d love, reach out and we’ll help.

What if it doesn’t fit? Can it be resized?

Yes. If the fit isn’t quite right, the ring can be resized, and we send you $100 toward it at any jeweler you choose, one resize per ring. A trusted local jeweler is usually the quickest. Sizing a surprise is tricky for everyone, so get as close as you can and don’t let it worry you: a size that’s slightly off is a small adjustment, not a mistake. See our policies for the details.

After you order

What if my ring breaks?

Wear it without a second thought. If your ring ever breaks, send it back and we’ll remake it for life, at a craftsmanship fee of 25% of what you paid. See our policies for the full details.

Can I track my order while I wait?

Yes. You can follow your ring the whole way: open Track Order at the bottom of any page, sign in with your email, and your order and its status are right there. Check in as often as you like.

What is your return policy?

If your ring isn’t quite right, you can return it within 15 days of the day it arrives. We want you to see it in person, in your own light, before you decide it’s the one. Just reach out and we’ll walk you through it.

How does my ring ship?

Your ring ships within the United States with full tracking, so you can follow it the whole way to your door. Shipping is free and fully insured, and because each ring is made to order, it leaves us once it’s finished, usually around the 45-day mark. We ask for a signature at delivery, so it’s never left sitting on a doorstep.
